Chapter 6: The Taproom Trap — Hospitality Is Hard

One of the best ways to make money from your brewery is blindingly obvious: cut out the middle man. Don't sell your beer to a pub at wholesale prices and wait ninety days to get paid. Sell it directly to customers who walk through your door, at full retail, cash in hand. A taproom. It's the single most effective way to improve your margins, and almost every brewery advisor, business mentor, and industry podcast will tell you to do it.

They're not wrong about the margins. They're just not telling you the full story.
