The "Good Beer Sells Itself" Myth
This is the most dangerous lie in the industry. It doesn't. Good beer with no marketing, no visibility, no social media presence, and no brand recognition sits in your fermenter until it goes out of date. The market is too crowded, the competition too fierce, and consumer attention too fractured for quality alone to carry you.
You need to market. You need to sell. You need to be visible, consistent, professional, and persistent. And you need to do all of this while also running every other aspect of a manufacturing business, on a budget that barely covers your ingredients, with skills you may not have and time you definitely don't have.
Sales and marketing are not extras bolted on to the side of a brewery. They are the brewery. Without them, you're just a very expensive homebrewer making beer that nobody knows about.
